Official Contest Rules and Terms of Service
The science duel video sessions will be held in 4 category sessions in parallel. Each session will have Top 10 nominated videos. Those TOP 10 will be ranked by a user voting, starting from October 1st, 2015.
All entries for nominees must be submitted before October 1st, 2015. The Top 10 submissions of each category will be presented on science.duel.life. Each session are chaired by two experts of the field.
Starting from October 1st, 2015, the call for votes will be open. The voting period ends on December 31, 2015. The final winner of each category will be presented on science.duel.life.
Is the contest free?
Yes, the contest is free to enter.
Who can participate?
We invite all for submissions: scientists, non-scientists, company members, companies, universities, research institutions, and others.
Are there any personal data required?
We do NOT require you to share your personal data, such as your name or your email address.
How do I submit a video link?
1. We provide a submission form for on our website within each category.
2. YouTube video LINKS must be submitted online only. The submission of original video files is not permitted, only links are accepted.
3. All participating videos must be published on YouTube. Other video link sources are currently not accepted due to technical reasons.
How will nominees be selected?
The TOP 10 nominee video submissions of each category will be displayed on science.duel.life. The rank of a video submission depends on the number of submissions made by our users.
How will the winner(s) be selected?
Starting from October 31, our users are invited to vote on all TOP10 nominees in each category. The final winner of each category will be announced at the end of the contest.
Further policy statements
Neither YouTube, the International Year of Light Committee, nor any other commercial company is a sponsor of the YouTube video contest duel. science.duel.life is solely responsible for the contest and its content.
